According to an ad in Weimaraner Magazine's December 1998 issue:

"`Gunnar' made history last fall when he became a Prize I maximum score (204) NAVHDA [North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association] Utility dog, which qualified him for the very prestigious NAVHDA Invitational.  Now he has done it again!  On September 6, 1998, at the Invitational test hosted by the Minnesota chapter of [NAVHDA] ... , Gunnar became the first Weimaraner to become a NAVHDA Versatile Champion (VC).  For anyone not familiar with this grueling, all day test, it has 14 areas of judgment.  Obedience, blind duck retrieves, pointing, honoring, and use of nose to name just a few.  With a score of 187, Gunnar has once again proven to me what an amazing dog that he is.  The first of his offspring tested with NAVHDA, received a Prize I maximum score (112) in natural ability."
